Tammy Lee Askew Mitchell, 45, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2014.

She was preceded in death by her mother in law, Diane Ferguson, her father in law, Lucky Mitchell and a special cousin Robert Lee Rowland.

Tammy is survived by her husband, Michael Lee ''Mike'' Mitchell, Sr. and her son, Michael Lee Mitchell, Jr; her parents, Walter Lee and Shirley Harlow Askew of Darlington; sisters, Sharon Barlow and her husband, Edward of Roanoke Rapids, Linda Warren and her husband, Kip of Darlington; sister in law, Nicole Jenkins and her husband, Mike of Roanoke Rapids; brother in law, Chris Mitchell of Roanoke Rapids; aunts, Bettie Rowland, Fran Rowland, both of Darlington, Peggy Askew of Roanoke Rapids, Margaret Purkett of New Jersey, Judy Mitchell of Virginia, Amurlis Miles and her, husband Raymond, Geraldine Hanna and her, husband David, Elaine Joyner and Arlene Mitchell all of Roanoke Rapids; uncles, James Askew and his wife Viola of Ahoskie, Tim Mitchell of Virginia, Randy Mitchell and his wife, Kathy of Roanoke Rapids, Bill Mitchell and his wife, Wanda of Virginia, Alan Mitchell and his wife, Susan of Roanoke Rapids, and Allen Ferguson of Roanoke Rapids; nieces, Ashley Bennett and her husband, Matt, Jennifer Jones and her husband, Caive, and Taylor Mitchell, all of Roanoke Rapids; nephews, Christopher Nowell and Kendall of Roanoke Rapids, Justin Barlow and Lauren of Darlington, Nathan Barlow of Roanoke Rapids, Zackery Warren of Darlington, Nicolas Denny of Roanoke Rapids, and Bruce Jenkins of Roanoke Rapids; great nieces and nephews, Matilyn Bennett, Hayden Barlow, Braxton Bennett, Landen Nowell, Charlie Barlow, and Christopher Ormond; special cousins Joe Rowland, Michael Rowland, Shirley Finch, Christi Yarbrough, Paul and C. J. Purkett, Sheryl Mayle, Keith and Doug Askew; her much loved canine companion ''Buddy''.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services with Rev. Randy Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.

Friends and family will receive on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services and other times at the home of her parents 3177 Hedgepeth Road Littleton, NC.
